Genioh Yamashirogumi’s Ecophony Rinne is a groundbreaking 1986 album that blends ancient musical traditions with cutting-edge technology, creating a four-part “ecological music” symphony performed by more than 200 musicians. Considered a precursor to the group’s famous work on Akira, the album pushed the boundaries of sound and reshaped how listeners experience music. Time Capsule’s new half-speed-mastered reissue, completed at Abbey Road by Miles Showell, is the first vinyl edition to fully realize composer Ōhashi’s “Hypersonic Effect” theory, embedding frequencies beyond human hearing to preserve the work’s full emotional and sonic impact.
