By late 1981, San Sebastián’s Derribos Arias had emerged from La Banda sin Futuro, built around the near-inseparable pairing of Poch and Alejo Alberdi. Poch brought a wildly inventive guitar style, while Alejo worked with a Korg MS-10 and KR55, giving the band a self-sufficient, post-punk edge.
Their first two singles turned heads, with Branquias bajo el agua voted Best Song of 1982 by listeners of Diario Pop on Radio 3. With a four-piece lineup and Paco Trinidad producing at Kirios Studios, they recorded En la guía, en el listín, released in 1983.
Tracks like Íntima decoración, Crematorio and Lo que hay capture their singular mix of angular rock and fearless experimentation. Reworked later as Disco pocho, the latter says plenty about Poch’s imagination. This edition includes liner notes, the original insert artwork, and the full album.
