Expatriot

'Expatriot' is the fourth studio album from Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou and in contrast to their previous release, the excellent self-produced 'La Ferme De Fontenaille' the pair have engaged the services of Ethan Johns, the acclaimed producer, engineer, mixer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, the album was recorded at Johns' Wiltshire studio and he plays on the album as well as taking care of production duties. 'Big name' producer to one side though as the real stars of the show are of course Trevor and Hannah-Lou, both possess distinct vocals which, when wrapped around their clever wordcraft and rhymes, are a real joy to listen to and when they harmonise and interchange the experience is heightened further; when you combine with the deliciously fluid melodies dressed with deft instrumentation there much to admire and enjoy, aside from the expected acoustic guitars and harmonica the use of other elements including a vintage Lorenzo organ and Mellotron strings add interest and colour creating a beautiful flow of music from the opening title track to the closing song 'A Better Day' - highly recommended.
