Brezel Göring – the grand dame of Berlin chanson, or rather ‘Chanson Kaputt’, the sparkling punk princess of Kreuzberg, who, with glamour and anarchic humour, bounces off every musical expectation like a pinball – switches playfully and masterfully between countless genres and hurtles unchecked from one attraction to the next! Whereas question marks adorned the spine of the previous album, *Psychoanalyse Volume 2*, here it should really be exclamation marks, for this record has verve, is rousing, fast-paced, puts you in a good mood, is very playful and extremely multifaceted. Above all, it is extreme. Thematically, lyrically and musically. There are references to classical music, Japanese blues, disco, punk, hip-hop and, of course, French chansons. Friedhof der Moral is a musical firework display, eloquent, full of cinematic vignettes, and it sets our synapses alight.
