Rob Lamothe from the Riverdogs (circa 1990) went solo with his debut album Gravity in 1996. The album introduced a more introspective side to Lamothe’s songwriting exploring a depth of emotions, from sorrow, to love, to pain to hope; a poignant reflection of the human experience. Showcasing his talents as a truly versatile singer songwriter and storyteller, Lamothe infuses Gravity with blues, folk, and Americana to create a sonic journey of ethereal highs to raw, soul stirring lows. ‘Gravity’ was written and recorded in the summer of 1994, after returning to Los Angeles from a 30 date European tour with Riverdogs. Writing and recording ‘Gravity’ was medicine, as Rob left longtime musical collaborators in Southern California and moved to Canada, to be near his sons. Arriving in Hamilton, Ontario, he camped out in hotels and basements, carrying his acoustic guitar into any open mic or jam session he could find.
