Patrick Shiroishi and Jason Nazary make their duo debut for We Jazz Records with here i am no i, a free-flowing set that moves with real momentum. Rooted in the acoustic duo format, it opens out through electronics and voice into something spacious, searching and hard to pin down.

Dedicated to jaimie branch, the album came together spontaneously as both artists worked through the unimaginable loss of a close friend. Nazary recorded his parts in one go after Shiroishi sent seven tracks, bringing a raw immediacy shaped by grief, instinct and trust.

Shiroishi is a Japanese-American multi-instrumentalist, composer and poet based in Los Angeles, with work spanning The Armed, Wild Up and Fuubutsushi. Nazary’s growing We Jazz catalogue also includes his solo album Spring Collection from 2021.
