Hey You!

Eugene Evans is a Middlesbrough born creative and multi-instrumentalist. He records and edits at his home-studio in the North East of England.

His twangy guitar, Hammond organ and saxophone-infused music is influenced by the 1960’s. But his songs reach far beyond that in every direction!

This Long Player has been carefully curated to best showcase Eugene’s unique talent and diversity. Some tracks have featured on his earlier albums, while others date from more recent times, and are previously unreleased. A couple are collaborative efforts, featuring musicians from Eugene’s distinct orbit.

The songs selected demonstrate the variety of Eugene’s musical explorations, yet offer an immensely cohesive listening experience.

From seductive late-50s jazz-pop, through rock ’n’ roll, surf, and stomping northern soul, via swing, funk, punk, garage, and freakbeat, to fuzzy psychedelia and cinematic neo-classical, this smorgasbord of a record compels you to dig in and devour everything!

Whether on the move or listening at home, allow it to enter your psyche to alter your pace and set your feet and fingers tapping - all through absorption of the fresh, rhythmically-joyous melodies of Hey You! by Eugene And The Sampletones!
