The Horsehair EP is the latest offering to arrive from Alex MacKay’s Cutouts, and a natural follow-up to the project’s 2025 debut album Snakeskin. Darker and grittier by comparison than the work he’s known for in Nation of Language, new original songs ‘Rodeo’ and ’The Horse’ showcase and expand upon Cutouts’ definingly sinister electronic palette. They come paired with a a stunning cover of Goldfrapp’s ’Strict Machine’, as well as a new dub mix of previous standout single ‘Cowgirl’ (feat. Tomberlin) re-worked by NYC dancefloor legends Midnight Magic. An extremely limited pressing of 300 vinyl copies will be made available worldwide.
