Here is the highly anticipated second volume of the JAZZ BRUT series produced by Q-Sounds Recording. The philosophy remains the same: bringing musicians together for a day without them knowing the direction the recording will take. Following in the footsteps of experiments led by Sun Ra or, more recently, Damon Locks and Angel Bat Davis, JAZZ BRUT offers a collective approach to improvisation, without hierarchy, structured by rhythm. In this Volume 002, we find echoes of hip-hop, the piano of George Edouard Nouel, and the jazz-funk rhythms of Johnny Hammond, not to mention influences from the music of François de Roubaix and Morricone.
