Joe Strummer 003: The 101’ers Years 1974-1976

Dark Horse Records releases Joe Strummer 003: The 101'ers Years, bringing together studio and live recordings from Joe Strummer's pre-Clash band, The 101'ers. Their sound mixed rock and roll, R&B and rockabilly, just as punk was beginning to emerge.

After the Sex Pistols opened for the band in 1976, Strummer was drawn to the new punk movement and soon left to join The Clash. The 101'ers brief run captures an important moment just before British punk changed everything.

The 2LP edition features the complete studio recordings on the first LP, with highlights from the basement tapes and demos on the second. The 3CD deluxe edition has 48 tracks in a 48-page hardback book with slipcase, including a foreword by Glen Matlock, a history by band member Richard Nother Dudanski, and illustrations and writings by Joe Strummer from his archive.
