Knots

Written and recorded across seven years, Knots documents Dogs on Shady Lane's gradual evolution from Tori Hall's intimate solo recordings into a collaborative band. The eight-track album is a guitar-centred, harmony-heavy quilt of soft indie rock, stitching together themes of reflection, queer love, family ties and connection.

Engineered at Big Nice Studio, Knots is Dogs on Shady Lane's most expansive work to date. The Brooklyn-via-Providence indie rock band blends elements of indie folk and slowcore, drawing inspiration from artists including Big Thief, Sylvan Esso and Feist.

Hall began Dogs on Shady Lane in 2018 as a solo project with ever-changing arrangements and rotating collaborators. The core lineup now includes longtime bandmate Evan Weinstein (guitar/synth/vox), Calder Mansfield (bass/vox) and Grace Goss (drums), bringing the songs to life through collaborative arrangement.
