Dave-id Busaras is a founding member of Irish avant-garde rock group Virgin Prunes, and one of only two members to stay with the band for its entire existence.
In November 1982, Virgin Prunes released their debut studio album, ...If I Die, I Die, produced by Colin Newman of Wire, as well as the double 10" EP Hérésie, a French box set. In July 1986, the band finally released a second studio album, The Moon Looked Down and Laughed. Later that year, Gavin Friday left the group.
After disbanding, D'Nellon, Strongman and Busaras formed The Prunes, releasing three albums between 1988 and 1991. Dave-id's first solo album, Smegma Structures Don't Rhyme, came out in 1995 on German indie label Scout Releases. Since the early 2000s he has released four albums, one solo and three collaborations. He is also a member of Gordon Whitlow's supergroup Sorry for Laughing. In contrast to Dave's latest releases, L.W.N. Box is a rock album with a full band. Gavin Friday guests on one track.
