La Luna Sobre el Desierto

The music of Cristina Plaza, aka Daga Voladora, is an anomaly: small joys, missteps, longings and misfortunes become an emotional map, inviting us to grasp those fleeting musical sparks that vanish at the most unexpected moment.

On La luna Sobre el Desierto, the songs are small mirages, traces of stories in liminal spaces between reality and strangeness. Woven over a year, they make for an even more dazzling follow-up to Los Manantiales.

Produced by Cristina, mixed and mastered by Damián Schwartz, and illustrated by Gema Quiles, the album moves from the synth rhythms of Hasta los glaciares to the dream pop of Pegado a mí and the Lee Hazlewood-esque folk of Una esquina, with references to Patrick Fegel, The Beach Boys, Vainica Doble, Silver Apples, Joy Williams and Lou Reed along the way.
