Following the much-loved Library Music: Volume One, The Leaf Library return with a second trip through the edges of their catalogue, pulling together rare recordings, compilation cuts, limited releases, collaborations and hidden gems into a vivid double LP of electronic indie pop in all its forms.
This is far more than an odds-and-ends set. Across thirteen tracks, The Leaf Library open up the in-between spaces where ideas drift and expand, from hypnotic drones and motorik rhythms to glowing analogue textures, pastoral electronics and their quietly melodic melancholy.
It moves from the electro-pop of Flowers At The Border and the psych rock-adjacent Building Better Worlds to the gentle chamber shuffle of Kendrick Road, stretching from the 22 minute folk kosmiche epic Versatile Clouds to the 59 second punctuation mark of Harmonic Runout. As Matt Ashton puts it, these pieces tell their own story.
