Living History

Living History is the debut album from Jo Dudderidge, who spent ten years living day-to-day with The Travelling Band. After feeling rudderless and struggling to adapt to life in London, he found solace in the persona of Youth, a reminder to continue enjoying the thrill of self-expression through writing.

The album is a bold statement with a distinctive character, centered on Dudderidge's signature Wurlitzer electric piano and unique voice. The lyrics blend raw emotion with a fresh, idiosyncratic style that draws inspiration from krautrock to alt-country. The songs on Living History cover a range of themes, from "nights turning into mornings" to "heartaches saved by a group of Venezuelans."

The album explores nostalgia in a way that seeks to understand the past rather than relive it, touching on themes of mortality, running away from oneself, and dreaming of reuniting with lost loves.
