Lost Corridors

"Lost Corridors" is the first Tunnels Of Āh release and features Burroughs' "industrial esoterica", evoking the spirit of the pioneering underground experimental scene in the new dark age. This is psychick war. “Industrial machinery looms large over this one: the wavering buzz of circular saws slicing cleanly through steel blocks, and the cold reverb that indicates the presence of concrete walls somewhere deep in the shadows. It’s a lonely work, reminiscent of a factory worker boring into the monotony of his labour; acquainting himself with machinery sound until it starts to sing to him, bathing in abstract chords comprised of vacuous hums and gleaming metallic overtones. There’s no doubt Stephen A Burroughs (ex-Head Of David) fancies himself a disciple of Z’EV – excavating the music of metallic surfaces – yet there are allusions toward a dark, troubled psyche here (inhuman voices laced through the echoes, haunted melody patterns) that twist the connotations of the material, thus gifting Tunnels Of Ah its own avenue of musical pursuit.”
