Manifold of Partially Actualized Realities is the new album on Kou Records by Randall Dunn — producer, composer and architect of low-end and spatial sound, known for work with Sunn O))), Oneohtrix Point Never and David Torn.
A meditation on fractured realities, time and mortality, the album draws on Philip K. Dick's 1974 "pink light experience", in which he reported a transmission from a vast, alien intelligence. Dunn approaches this as both concept and compositional logic: music that arrives in layers, collapses, reconstitutes and refuses resolution.
Across four pieces, vintage synths meet an ensemble cast. Spoken word by Jim Jarmusch and Laima Leyton anchors two pieces; the final track, Ayn, opens into ecstatic jazz with Cyro Baptista, Briggan Krauss, Henry Fraser, Charmaine Lee and Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe. Produced, mixed and recorded by Dunn at Circular Ruin, April 2026; mastered and Atmos mixed by Ben Greenberg.
