The Berlin Wall fell, and the young East German Abo Alsleben immediately booked the “worst” that the West had to offer — Mayhem. Three shows took place in the former GDR, including one at the Eiskeller in Leipzig, which would be released in 1993 as Live in Leipzig. A milestone album featuring the short-lived but legendary line-up of Dead, Euronymous, Hellhammer and Necrobutcher.
Abo arranged all three concerts and joined the band on tour, and this book is his story of that experience. His account is complemented by facsimile reproductions of all the letters he and Euronymous wrote to each other, along with an extensive collection of photographs, including previously unpublished images.
