Heron & Crane, the electronic psych-folk duo of Dave Gibson and Travis Kokas, return with their fourth full-length, Migrations, via Hibernator Gigs Records.

Following 2024’s Nestings, the pair looked beyond the studio-bound rhythm of the pandemic years. Travel and unfamiliar landscapes helped shape the writing, and Migrations became the first fully instrumental Heron & Crane album, letting the strongest material lead without forcing vocals into the mix.

Recorded in Charlottesville, VA and Columbus, OH, with arrangements built remotely, the record broadens their palette: Kudzu Moon pairs Celtic harp with 80s new age synth, Biscuit Basin blends lap steel and Moog, while Modern Calling, Tropical Lustron, Haven of Exiles, Heart Shake, Soft Cycle and Slightly California trace tropicalia, hauntological folk and jazz-tinted textures.
