Minnets Långa Kedjor

Mats Erlandsson and Gus Loxbo’s Minnets Långa Kedjor is a deeply personal set shaped by free improvisation, electroacoustic drone and doom metal, unfolding with its own dream logic. It grows from a long friendship and a shared upbringing in Bergslagen, where place, memory and mood feed the music.

Built from immediate exchanges developed over 25 years, the album began with instinctive performances, then evolved through extensive studio work by Erlandsson. Using editing, digital processing and analogue tape in the electroacoustic tradition, he amplifies, obscures and refines the material into something immersive and vivid.

Erlandsson is a key figure in Stockholm’s renewed drone scene. Loxbo, best known as a double bass player in improvised music and groups including Pombo and Silence Blossoms, released his solo debut Trådknaster in 2021. Minnets Långa Kedjor is their first publicly released recording together.
