Minutiae is the first full-length release from Stockholm’s Ināra Quartet: brothers Kasper Agnas (guitar, banjo, mandolin) and Mauritz Agnas (bass, cello), with Johan Graden (piano, harmonium, synths) and Mischa Grind (percussion). Drawing on free improvisation, jazz and composed new music, they carve out a niche where radical rhythmic organisation meets accessible, folkish melodic and harmonic material.

Across eight pop-song-length tracks, Minutiae expands these folk fragments into intricate group interplay by turns austere and lushly psychedelic. The layering of independent rhythms, pulses and tempi suggests precedents from Ligeti to John McGuire, The Necks and Banda music.

Highlights include Klapparen, where guitar and percussion accelerate and decelerate in unison, and Box Pieces, which pivots from frenetic layering to a locked-in dirge. Recorded over two days at Stockholm’s Atlantis studios, it was mixed by Andreas Werliin.
