Part songwriter, part street photographer, Josh Rouse frames Museums and Women like a set of passing snapshots, catching drifters, dreamers, and strangers as they move through everyday life. It is a warm, hopeful record, full of romance, wry humour, and characters searching without ever sounding lost.

Recorded in Nashville with longtime collaborator Brad Jones and drummer Fred Eltringham, the album came together almost by accident. Live morning sessions and same-day overdubs give these songs an easy, fresh feel, from Spring to Sunday In The Country and Parnell Street.

The title comes from a book by John Updike, and it suits the record perfectly. Nearly three decades in, Rouse sounds relaxed and quietly inspired, following the same melodic path that has carried him from Dressed Up Like Nebraska to the Goya Award-winning Do You Really Want To Be In Love.
