Music To Set Everything On Fire

After a couple of scarce 7-inch singles for Orfeón, Antorcha went fully DIY. By the late 1960s, the Mexican group had become a heavy psychedelic rock band with no compromises, drawing from Iron Butterfly, Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Vanilla Fudge and, at times, MC5.

In a scene packed with cover bands, Antorcha pushed original music and an anti-establishment spirit. They ran as a cooperative, making decisions together and splitting income equally, while self-producing five EPs sold only at shows between 1971 and 1976.

This compilation gathers the best of their self-released 7-inch records, plus tracks never issued on those EPs. It also includes an insert with liner notes by Carlos Icaza “Tropicaza” and band photographs.
