This release compiles two original LPs by Ahmad Jamal, one of the most successful small-group leaders in jazz over six decades:

Naked City Theme (1964: Argo LPS-733), recorded live at the Jazz Workshop, in San Francisco, and Extensions (1965: Argo LPS-758), a studio album made in New York the following year.
