Next to Nothing

Available on vinyl for the first time in over 30 years, Black Editions presents the expanded definitive edition of White Heaven's brilliant third album, Next to Nothing.

Originally released in 1994 by Tokyo's Noon Disk, the full album only appeared in a limited run of 250 copies. It has since become one of the most sought-after artefacts of the '90s Japanese underground and a real highpoint of Japanese psychedelic rock.

Led by vocalist, songwriter and conceptualist You Ishihara, the band move with clarity and restraint here. Michio Kurihara and Soichiro Nakamura appear together on record for the first time, joined by Koji Shimura, Ken Ishihara and Go Hirano. Their extended take on The Look of Love becomes the album's entrancing centrepiece, turning the Burt Bacharach and Hal David song into a slow-burning psychedelic meditation.
