Oh-By The Way

Oh-By The Way captures a strong new chapter for Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers. Recorded in 1982, it introduces a fresh lineup of rising players while continuing Blakey’s long-running gift for spotting and shaping young jazz talent.

This edition features Terence Blanchard, Donald Harrison and Johnny O’Neal, stepping in after the celebrated Marsalis-Williams period. The result is a vivid document of Blakey’s ever-renewing creative force and the enduring spirit of the Jazz Messengers tradition.

Oh-By The Way is available as a limited edition on blue coloured vinyl. It also includes liner notes by Dutch Timeless label owners Wim Wigt and Ria Wigt, with a 50th anniversary sticker affixed to the plastic sleeve.
