Payola

Formed in 1982 from the ashes of Factory Records bit players Tunnelvision, Vee VV built up a strong local following and established themselves as a hard hitting live outfit. After a series of local gigs they played throughout the UK including prestigious supports to bands including Jesus and Mary Chain, New Order, James, The Gun Club, A Certain Ratio and My Bloody Valentine. A move to London and Manchester followed.

It wasn’t long before they started receiving favourable reviews leading to a string of interviews and national music press attention.

After 8 releases, inclusion on two compilation albums (including Cherry Red) and radio sessions with John Peel they started to receive major label interest, however by now it was 1989, different times, therefore the band decided to call it a day.

Now, almost 30 years later and with a Retrospective compilation in production the band are back with the most prolific line up ,rehearsing for live dates and writing new material .
