Title

Dag began in the sleepy, sun-drenched city of Meanjin/Brisbane in 2012, with singer/songwriter Dusty Anastassiou being joined by Bridie McQueenie (drums) and Heidi Cutlack (bass). In 2014, the band released a cassette EP entitled “Dogwood”, via local legends Tenth Court. Here they found a small but dedicated following amongst fans of trebly, weather-worn pop songs. Defined by a rotating line-up of friends and contributors, Dag has changed with each subsequent recording.

In 2017 they released their debut LP, Benefits of Solitude, via Bedroom Suck. The record featured the band's final incarnation in Brisbane, with Dusty being joined by Josh Watson (bass/violin), Skye McNicol (violin) and Matt Ford (drums). Mixed and partly recorded by Josh Watson, the album saw the band's palette and instrumentation expand. The result was a sound rooted in the physical and psychological fringes of Australia. After relocating to Naarm/Melbourne in 2016, Dag returned to a classic power trio with Dave McMillan (drums) and Dan Ford (bass). It was with this line-up (along with some very special guests) that the band recorded their sophomore album, Pedestrian Life.

Three years on from their first LP, Dag are excited to share this long labour of love with the world.
