Christian Lee Hutson returns with his follow-up to his Anti debut, Beginners. In this album, Hutson shifts his focus from growing up to the complexities of growing older.

Written during lockdown, the album Quitters opens with a laugh reminiscent of John Huston films, conveying a sense of resignation and release, with a cosmic nod to "California," a place where lonely souls congregate like birds.

The track "Rubberneckers" traces the arc of a romance from its inception to its demise, featuring backing vocals by Phoebe Bridges, who also returns as a producer alongside Conor Oberst.

Departing from the digital recording of his debut, Hutson explains, "Phoebe and Conor had the idea to record this album to tape. Phoebe is my best friend, and working with her on Beginners was so natural. I wanted to collaborate with her again, and Conor, as a respected lyricist, was someone I wanted to work with."

Quitters is a world in itself, capturing the hazy essence of a dream and the fragments of a forgotten past. It bravely declares, "In the good old days, when times were bad."

Beyond the music, Hutson's voice shines through, offering a glimpse into his life in 2021 and sharing a collection of songs created with friends for listeners to enjoy.
