Formed in 1965 in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian Samba Jazz combo named Rio 65 Trio consisted of three great instrumentalists in modern Brazilian music. Dom Salvador on piano, Sérgio Barrozo on double bass, and Edison Machado on drums. Released on Philips in the same year this marvelous debut album comes as a perfect introduction to a certain form of Brazilian flavoured Jazz. A grabbing attention mixture of sounds and colors which will turn out to be very influential in the years to come.
