Title

Unicorn is a legendary British band whose music is celebrated in a 4 CD clamshell boxed set. This set gathers together three albums and an additional disc of previously unreleased archive material.

The band recorded their first album in 1971 for the Transatlantic label. By 1973, they caught the attention of Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd. Gilmour was impressed with Unicorn's musical approach, American West Coast musical influences, vocal harmonies, and very English lyrics.

The album "Blue Pine Trees" was released on the Charisma label in 1974. Produced by David Gilmour, the album features a lineup of Kenny Baker (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Pete Perryer (drums, lead vocals), Pat Martin (bass, vocals), and Kevin Smith (lead guitar, mandolin). Gilmour also contributed as a musician on several tracks.

In 1976, Unicorn signed with EMI's Harvest label and recorded their next album, "Too Many Crooks," once again produced by David Gilmour. The album included the song "No Way Out Of Here," which Gilmour later covered on his first solo album in 1978.

The band's final album, "One More Tomorrow," was released in 1977. Although Unicorn continued until 1979, they did not record another new album.

This boxed set includes all three albums with additional bonus tracks and features an extra CD with 19 previously unreleased studio and live archive recordings selected by Unicorn's Pat Martin. The set also includes an illustrated booklet and essay, making it a fine tribute to one of Britain's most unique bands.
