It was through the first volume of the Musique Ambiante Française compilations that we met the hermit Dagerlöff. From a sanatorium and the depths of his own entrails, he delivered the aptly named From The Womb To The Tomb. Out of that dark period came a spark: the fleeting vision of a little girl running through a public garden.
From this epiphany came Solarpunk, a vibrant ode to childhood and a return to innocence. Withdrawing from the world once more, Dagerlöff set out to recreate the sonic cocoon of his own youth.
The album resurrects the magic of Amblin productions such as E.T., Gremlins, The Goonies and Young Sherlock Holmes, while summoning Japanese cartoon themes and the luminous aesthetic of Nintendo consoles. Resolutely contemporary, it builds bridges between Ryuichi Sakamoto, Daniel Lopatin, Wendy Carlos and Disasterpeace.
