Songs For Slim

The Songs For Slim series was constructed in order to raise money for former Replacements guitarist Slim Dunlap's medical costs, the result of a massive right brain stroke he suffered in 2012. Fellow Replacements members Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson reunited and recorded an original Slim Dunlap song plus threeadditional covers. Original Replacements drummer Chris Mars also recorded a Slim cover and all five tracks were combined on a limited edition run of 250 numbered copies of 10" vinyl EPs. These EPs were auctioned in January and raised a staggering $105,743.42. Future auctions of split 7" singles with artists such as Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Craig Finn (from The Hold Steady), Deer Tick, Jakob Dylan, John Doe, The Jayhawks and Frank Black, all covering Slim's songs, will commence on the 15th of each month and run for 7 days each.
