Soul Deep

German/Irish soul singer and virtuoso guitarist Torsten Goods pours his very soul into our ears with 'Soul Deep', his eighth album. Far more than a mere follow-up to 'Soul Searching', his successful 2023 release, the twelve new songs here (ten on the vinyl format) are either self-written or co-written with his British soul brother Bluey Maunick of Incognito, presenting Goods as a mature artist, heavily influenced by soul, but also jazz, blues and the summery west coast/AOR sounds of late 70s California. And, as virtuosic, polished and well-produced as it is, Goods nevertheless achieves a combination of sound and voice that touches the soul of the listener.
