Soul Latino (Discos Musart, 1969) is a rare gem of Mexican funk, featuring the Mexico City-born Agueros-Patino brothers - Salvador (drums), Felix (percussion, drums), Jose Luis (guitar), and Roberto (bass) - better known as Rabbits & Carrots. The group's sole album is now regarded as an important piece of Mexican funk history, blending Latin rhythms, jazz, soul, and funk through instrumental interpretations of Jorge Ben's "Pais Tropical," Rufus Thomas' "Funky Chicken," Sly & The Family Stone's "Everyday People," and Kool & The Gang's "Kool & The Gang.
