State of Emergency

Vinyl reissue of the 1976 release from reggae producer Joe Gibbs and his gang of Professionals (not to be confused with the post-Sex Pistols band featuring Steve Jones and Paul Cook). Gibbs' career began in the early days of rocksteady in Jamaica during the '60s and throughout his career, he worked with Dennis Brown, The Heptones, Culture and many others. He remains one of the most important figures in reggae and had a hand in every popular style of music coming from Jamaica right up to '80s dancehall.
