Superwolf is the first recorded teaming of Will Oldham and Matt Sweeney. after playing together as part of domino's 10th birthday celebrations, the album was written and developed over months in London, New Orleans, Brooklyn and Baltimore, and recorded in Paul Oldham's rove studio. The album marks a departure from the lush, warm tones of Sings Greatest Palace Music. Superwolf is a return to the bare, meditative sounds of Palace and early Bonnie. Matt Sweeney has previously featured in such bands as Zwan and Chavez.
