Systems / Layers is the fifth release and final LP of the instrumental group Rachel's. It was released October 7, 2003 on Quarterstick Records. The album is a collaborative dance/theater piece with the New York ensemble SITI Company. A modern soundtrack to city life - an aural survival pack that pulls out moments of delicate beauty from all the shit and cacophony. Sonic layers, classical elements, pieces that seem unfinished, no guitars - and somehow it all works.
2LP - Originally released only as a CD (in 2003), this double vinyl LP issue of Systems / Layers also includes the vinyl debut of the Rachel's 2005 CD EP, Technology Is Killing Music. Packaged in a Gatefold album jacket with printed inner sleeves, designed and layed out by Louisville native Jeremy deVine (of Temporary Residence fame).
CD - Comes with a 28 page booklet.
