Mystic Liverpool - The Beatles’ Psychedelic Psongbook

Jah Wobble teams up with his sons John T and Charlie - performing together as Tian Qiyi - for a deeply personal re-imagining of The Beatles’ psychedelic period.

The album draws on Wobble’s signature dub bass, John T’s drums, Chinese percussion and yangqin, with Charlie’s erhu and vocals.

Mystic Liverpool sits these songs inside a soundscape of Chinese, Mongolian and dub traditions.

The Liverpool connection runs through the family itself: the boys’ mother, Zi Lan Liao, grew up in the city and it’s where her father established the Pagoda Chinese Youth Orchestra - in which John T and Charlie were soloists. Mystic Liverpool is psychedelic in the truest sense - a mystical, immersive journey into songs that have always pointed east, now heard through the family that lives between those worlds. The CD digipak comes with an 8-page booklet featuring liner notes by Jah Wobble.
