Level 42 started as a Jazz Fusion band in the late 70’s before transitioning to dance rock, becoming best known for this style. Their first single, "Love Meeting Love," was released in 1980 to critical acclaim, leading to their debut album, the self-titled Level 42, which charted in the top 20.
Throughout the 80’s, the band released multiple albums and toured regularly, building a devoted fan base. Volume Two contains all the Level 42 albums from 1985 – 1989 in their original glory. This period is considered the band's most commercial, featuring hits like "Running in the Family," "Lessons in Love," and "Leaving Me Now."
Discs 6 -10 include B-Sides, 7” Mixes, remixes, and rare versions from that era. The compilation was done in collaboration with Level 42 and experts Paul Wallace, Paul Waller, and Simon Carson. Sleeve notes by Record Collector's Daryl Easlea, who has interviewed both current and past band members. Housed in a sturdy box to accommodate 10 CDs, the set includes a booklet with full track annotations and rare memorabilia.
