B.T. Express presents a definitive four CD Collection featuring their iconic albums Do It ('Til You're Satisfied), Non-Stop, Energy To Burn, Function At The Junction, Shout! (Shout It Out), 1980, and Keep It Up.
This thrilling package pays tribute to one of the greatest funk bands to emerge from New York. The collection includes the R&B #1 hits "Do It ('Til You're Satisfied)" and "Express," along with the 7” versions of both tracks. Journalist Lois Wilson provides fantastic sleeve notes, adding depth to the experience.
B.T. Express initially signed with production company Roadshow Records before securing a deal with Scepter. Originally known as the Madison Street Express (rehearsing on Brooklyn’s Madison Street), the group was asked to change their name. Thus, B.T. Express was born - with BT standing for Brothers Trucking, later altered to Brooklyn Transit.
Their debut album, Do It ('Til You're Satisfied) (1974), was recorded at Ultra-Sonic Recording Studios in Hempstead, Long Island, with producers Jeff Lane and Trade Martin, alongside arranger Randy Muller (also part of Brass Construction). The album achieved Gold certification, featuring key tracks such as "Give It What You Got," "Peace Pipe," "Can't Stop Groovin' Now," "Wanna Do It Some More," and "Shout It Out."
