The Fork and Knife

Skepta returns with his highly anticipated new album, The Fork and Knife. Rooted in the sounds, energy and culture of contemporary Britain while looking beyond its borders, it moves freely between grime, garage, house, jungle and electronic music.

Shaped by decades spent immersed in sound systems, clubs and rave spaces, the album centres on Skepta as rapper, writer and producer, reflecting his position at the centre of rap and his instinct to keep pushing the sound forward.

Identity runs through its heart as Skepta explores what it means to be British and the son of Nigerian immigrants. The visual world draws on 1980s Nigerian-British imagery, football culture and documentary realism, connecting the Windrush generation with modern London.
