The Pulse of Atoms feels like it comes with one instruction: play it loud. On their first collaboration, Lustmord and Dave Lombardo tap into the deepest roots of industrial and dark ambient, shaping something that reaches beyond straightforward genre lines.

Lombardo brings a singular history, from his decades with Slayer to four albums with Fantömas and work alongside John Zorn. His connection to rhythm and sound has always pushed past expectation, and that instinct drives this meeting.

Lustmord, the Welsh musician widely credited with originating dark ambient, first emerged in the early 1980s with SPK before defining his voice on 1986’s Paradise Disowned. His wider work includes collaborations with Melvins, Tool, Nurse With Wound, and Wes Borland, plus scores for films including First Reformed, The Crow, and Underworld.
