Bea Elmy Martin has quickly become one of the most compelling voices in the UK’s alternative music scene, seamlessly blending music, visual art, and performance. Since her 2021 debut single Blue Escape - championed by BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders and BBC 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne - she has earned critical acclaim, landing features in Clash and Wonderland while securing key editorial playlist placements. Rather than rushing to capitalize on early success, Bea spent two years meticulously crafting her debut album, Under The Yew, alongside longtime collaborator Dominick J Goldsmith.
Recorded in London, the album is an intimate, atmospheric statement of artistic integrity. Beyond music, Bea is a dedicated visual artist, exhibiting at the Ben Oakley Gallery (2022) and All Is Joy, Soho (2023). For Under The Yew, she collaborated with her partner, photographer Harry Hibert, to create raw, analogue visuals shot among Norway’s ancient forests, a beautiful dichotomy to the record’s London backdrop. Her stage presence is equally striking—after selling out her debut headline show in 2023, she played Glastonbury’s Rabbit Hole stage and joined HÆLOS in supporting Depeche Mode on a Europe wide stadium tour. As a singular talent redefining the intersection of music and art, Bea is fast becoming a cornerstone of alternative pop’s future.
Bea’s debut album unfolds in a bold, two-part release. Vol 1, packaged in a stunning gatefold vinyl, drops first and Vol 2 follows 6 months later, completing the dual vinyl package—a collector’s dream.
