W.O.L. Wand Orange Love A.k.a World Of Leather

Warehouse find at Compact Mansions! Fronted by singer Mark Chase, the conceptual W.O.L. hosted up to fifteen guitarists and three drummers live, (including Tony Visconti guitarist Paul Cuddeford) along with assorted backing-vocalists, mini-orchestras and players of baroque harpsichords. W. O. L. (Wand, Orange, Love aka World Of Leather) built up a following during a residency at The Orange, Kensington and could also be seen at the Splash, Barfly, Powerhaus, Garage, and other 90's London clubs. They made two albums produced and co-written by Tot Taylor. Their debut, St Mark's Place (Cake CD15) was issued on Soundcakes in 1994. A second album Jesus Christ Superstore (Cake CD17) followed in 1996 as the band sloganized their way around the UK, France and Scandinavia.
