Whole Wide World

The Body and Cel Genesis meet in a space shaped by tension, contradiction, curiosity, animosity and affection. Whole Wide World pulls trance music, distortion and experimental electronics into dialogue with the visceral force of two live drummers, born from friendship, humility and a shared openness to process.

Recorded at Machines with Magnets by Seth Manchester, with additional recording in California by Andrew Oswald, the album took shape over two years, several sessions and meticulous editing. Some tracks began with electronics from Cel Genesis; others with live drumming from Lee Buford and Nick Cowman, then reworked and reimagined.

Dense, heavy, joyful and hard to pin down, Whole Wide World feels like an ode to egoless invention. Its harsher themes face the present head on, sounding like an unrelenting optimist trying to process the death of possibility itself.
