With Dim Light

Minami Deutsch return with their latest LP, With Dim Light, easing the edges of their sound without losing the core of what makes them so compelling. The signature fuzz is still here, alongside thumping bass and dreamlike vocals, now joined by a broader and more adventurous sense of shape and texture.

There is a deeper push into genre exploration across the record, with hints of post-punk and nods to late 60s psychedelic rock. It is a confident step forward that shows Minami Deutsch stretching their musical boundaries while holding onto a sharp and thoughtful songwriting touch.

Minami Deutsch was formed in Tokyo in 2014 by Kyotaro Miula on guitar, vocals and synthesizer. The band describe themselves as “repetition freaks” and are heavy listeners of minimal techno, a detail that continues to shape their hypnotic approach.
