Side A opens with the title-track “You’re My Patient Now” (taken directly from the LP: a hardboiled Raymond Chandler-inspired psychobilly gem that channels Link Wray and The Cramps in a fractured, dreamlike urban landscape), followed by “Glass” (a world-exclusive song: 50s garage shoo-waddy-waddy transformed into absurd rock’n’roll poetry courtesy of Jonny Helm). Side B offers two additional world-exclusive compositions available only on this Acuarela edition: “You Will Kill” (a Roky Erickson-style nightmare elevated by Holly Holden’s ethereal backing vocals) and “Running Scared” (Modern Lovers + Guided By Voices energy with Dominic Brider’s sensational harmonica). The Wave Pictures remain one of Britain’s most enduring and beloved cult bands: nearly 30 years of fiercely independent indie-rock that refuses to sound like indie-rock.
