Propaganda's debut album for Virgin circa 1990. Produced by former Tears For Fears' associates Ian Stanley and Chris Hughes. 3CD expanded edition including two CDs of versions and mixes.

Propaganda, formerly on ZTT, signed to Virgin Records in 1988. Michael Mertens from the original line-up was now joined by American vocalist Betsi Miller, bassist Derek Forbes and drummer Brian McGee (both ex-Simple Minds) who had both worked with the band for live appearances

Though he did not play on the album, Ralf Dörper's lyrics were used on the songs 'Only One Word', 'Wound In My Heart', and 'Vicious Circle'. Susanne Freytag performed guest vocals on two tracks ('Vicious Circle' and 'Ministry of Fear'), and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd played guitar on the songs, 'Your Wildlife' and 'Only One Word'.

The first single from the album, 'Heaven Give Me Words', was co-written with 1980s synth-pop star Howard Jones and reached the UK Top 40.

This edition includes a booklet with sleeve notes by John Earls (Classic Pop) who interviewed Michael Mertens and Betsi Hughes (née Miller) for the set.
