Title

Paul Bevoir is an English pop / rock songwriter and musician. He is probably best known as a member of the 1980s English pop band The Jetset, who were associated with the British Mod revival. Our journey begins way back in April 2008, when Pau had just released his 3rd solo album In Days Of Wonder on Accident Records in the UK.

Shortly after the release Bevoir started considering his next project and hit upon on an idea to make a one-off cartoon programme with a musical soundtrack. The project would be named A Balloon To The Moon and tell the story of a young boy and his dream of riding all the way to the moon (by balloon of course!).

Bevoir began working on the songs and the music started to take shape. However, at the same time Paul was asked by the Spanish singer and songwriter Guille Milkyway (leader of the group ‘La Casa Azul’) if he would be interested in collaborating on songs for an animated children's TV show, originating in Spain, to be called ‘Jelly Jamm’. The show needed an opening theme song, a closing theme and a new song for every episode. Paul happily agreed to work with Guille on the project and over the next two years the pair produced 13 songs for ‘Jelly Jamm’. Running for two seasons, the show was a huge success, being picked up along the way by around 180 different countries. There were multiple merchandising spin-offs from ‘Jelly Jamm’, including books, DVDs, toys and, of course, a soundtrack album.

All of this activity meant that the 'Balloon to the Moon’ project was temporarily put on hold. But by 2013, with ‘Jelly Jamm’ completed, Bevoir turned his attention back to the ‘Balloon’ tunes. However, work would again be interrupted with another new project from the creators of ‘Jelly Jamm’. They had asked Guille to compose songs for an animated series based on the hugely popular children’s toys ‘Pinypon’. The show would be called ‘P.I.N.Y. (Pinypon Institute of New York)’ and Guille and Paul worked together on the project during the following year. ‘P.I.N.Y.’ was another great success, airing on the Disney Channel all over the world.

For Accident Records, the prospect of now making their own cartoon show with a musical soundtrack seemed almost pointless, so Paul’s ‘Balloon’ album stalled once again. Bevoir spent the next few years working as a co-writer and producer for many other musical projects, the highlight being ‘Las Annettes’, a Spanish girl-group very much in a ’60s pop-soul style bag. ‘Las Annettes’ released two fabulous vinyl EP’s both arranged and produced by Paul. The group toured Europe, playing many concerts in Spain, Germany and the UK.

Finally, after years of set-backs, the wonderful soundtrack album to A Balloon to the Moon is now complete and finally released - almost 12 years after the project got off the ground. Hopefully the animated show will also be completed some time in the near future...
